Eligibility Requirements

Understanding the legal requirements for Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and Surrogacy under Indian law.

For Intended Parents

  • Must be married (Indian citizens or NRI/OCI)
  • Female partner: 23-50 years of age
  • Male partner: 26-55 years of age
  • Medical indication for ART/surrogacy
  • No biological or adopted child (except in specific cases)
  • Medical and psychological fitness certificate

For Surrogates

  • Age: 25-35 years
  • Must be married
  • Must have a biological child
  • Medical and psychological fitness certificate
  • Cannot be a close relative of intended parents
  • Can only be a surrogate once in her lifetime
