Understanding the step-by-step process of IVF and IUI treatments

IVF Treatment Timeline

Initial Consultation & Evaluation

Comprehensive assessment, medical history review, and baseline investigations. Both partners attend this session.

Ovarian Stimulation

Controlled ovarian stimulation with medications, monitored through regular ultrasounds and hormone level checks (typically 10-14 days).

Egg Retrieval

Ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval procedure under light sedation (approximately 20-30 minutes).

Fertilization & Embryo Culture

Eggs are fertilized with sperm in the laboratory. Embryos are cultured and monitored for 3-5 days. PGT may be performed if indicated.

Embryo Transfer

Selected embryos are transferred into the uterus. This is a quick, painless procedure. Remaining viable embryos can be frozen.

Pregnancy Test

Blood test approximately 10-14 days after embryo transfer to confirm pregnancy.

IUI Treatment Timeline

Evaluation & Preparation

Assessment of both partners, semen analysis, and ovulation monitoring.

Ovulation Induction (if needed)

Medications may be used to stimulate ovulation and optimize timing.

Sperm Preparation

Semen sample is collected, washed, and concentrated to select the best sperm.

Insemination

Prepared sperm is placed directly into the uterus during ovulation. Quick, painless procedure performed in the clinic.

Pregnancy Test

Test approximately 2 weeks after insemination to confirm pregnancy.
